Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng FC are eager to clinch the 2024–2025 Cambodian Premier League (CPL) title as soon as possible in order to boost morale and allow the squad to concentrate on the upcoming AFC Challenge League final. The team is scheduled to face Turkmenistan’s FK Arkadag at Morodok Techo National Stadium on May 10.
Head coach Pep Munoz has set the goal of securing three points in their upcoming home match against Nagaworld on April 30, which would automatically crown Svay Rieng as champions — even with two games remaining. In their last encounter on March 29, Svay Rieng decisively defeated Nagaworld 4–0 away from home.
“Recently, we’ve been winning consistently, and we need to maintain this momentum. If we win on Wednesday, it means we secure the title even faster — which is even better. In Wednesday’s match against Nagaworld, we want to show our team’s quality and take all three points,” he explained.
The Spanish coaches remarks came after his side demolished Angkor Tiger 6-1 on Sunday. The result pushed the team to the top of the table on 70 points, a 7 clear of second-placed Phnom Penh Crown, who narrowly lost 4–3 to Boeung Ket that same day.
Given the current standings, if Svay Rieng defeat Nagaworld, they will automatically retain their league title. Munoz hopes to celebrate this milestone in front of the home crowd at Svay Rieng Stadium.

If everything goes according to his wishes, Svay Rieng will go into the AFC Challenge League final against FK Arkadag with supreme confidence. The May 10 final is being touted as one of the biggest international football matches Cambodia has ever hosted.
The Kingdom’s football community, especially Svay Rieng fans, are focused on the upcoming match, with hopes that the club will make history and become the first Cambodian club to win the AFC Challenge League title.
Nunumerous domestic and international media outlets are preparing to cover the final, with Svay Rieng president Dy Vichea inviting representatives of all outlets to register with the club’s media team to receive match tickets and souvenirs.
“To all sports journalists, I will provide each outlet with two tickets to the AFC Challenge League final, along with a Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng FC scarf, so that you can attend and cover all activities of the May 10 final,” he said, via social media on April 28.
