Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng head coach Pep Munoz has explained that his main focus is now on the upcoming AFC Challenge League final against Turkmenistan’s FC Arkadag.
The match will take place at the Morodok Techo National Stadium on May 10, with Munoz describing it as potentially a major day of celebration for Cambodian football.
He shared his thoughts with the media after his team lost 2–0 to Visakha FC on Saturday night.
He explained that as the squad had already clinched the Cambodian Premier League (CPL) title on April 30, he did not field several key starting players, allowing thm to rest and conserve their energy for the upcoming AFC Challenge League final.
“To our supporters, we are truly thankful for your support during our early title win on April 30. We hope to see all of you again this coming Saturday for the final match,” he said.
The Spanish coach confirmed that after two days of rest, the team would resume training on Tuesday.
“We hope this Saturday will be a football celebration for the people of Cambodia,” he added.

With this hopeful outlook, Munoz appears confident in the spirit and fighting will of his players, believing they can defeat the Turkmenistan side and make history by claiming the AFC Challenge League title for the first time.
Fans are already begun rushing to buy tickets to cheer on Svay Rieng in their pursuit of international glory.
Visakha's Saturday home victory over Svay Rieng came through goals by defender Sin Sophanat in the 43rd minute and Brazilian forward De Anorade Souza Ramon in the 45+2 minute.
The 3-points earned with the win helped Visakha maintain third place on the CPL table, with 62 points, still 4 points behind Phnom Penh Crown. On Sunday, Crown defeated Nagaworld 4–2 to reach 66 points. Crown has automatically secured the runner-up position with one game remaining — against Svay Rieng. Visakha, too, has sealed third place regardless of the outcome of their final match.
