Dear American Chamber of Commerce Members,

This 2019 edition of the American Chamber of Commerce Directory celebrates the U.S.-Cambodian partnership of over 23 years.

On behalf of the Ministry of Commerce of the Royal Government of Cambodia, I would like to congratulate The American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) for their collaborative efforts and providing invaluable insights into our region of the world.

Cambodia is considered one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Since 1994 our country has experienced on average 7% GDP growth per annum. Part of this growth is attributable to the members of The American Chamber of Commerce, who see opportunities in Cambodia’s youthful populace, entrepreneurial spirit, and strategic location at the crossroads of Southeast Asia.

Last year’s economic growth was the most rapid in the past five years and the outlook for 2019 is looking bright.

While our long-standing success certainly justifies celebration, we are doing much more than looking back on our recent history. We are looking ahead to how business and trade will likely develop in Cambodia.

Through the support of the Chamber, we are navigating a new era for our country. Ever so important is the partnership between the public and private sector to help shape global trade policies.

Of great note and appreciation from me, through AmCham’s assistance, I have led three reverse trade missions to the United States with more planned for the future.

I have also travelled with AmCham members to Bangkok and Singapore to promote Cambodia as a destination for US exports and investment. I have witnessed AmCham’s continued support. This has been instrumental in highlighting Cambodia’s attractiveness as an investment hub for American companies.

This year, 2019, is a year of stability, maintaining resilience while coping with global trade dynamics. We recognize the importance of remaining at the forefront of the developing market needs, agriculture, workforce and education, which is why The American Chamber of Commerce is always welcome to continue their efforts in helping to achieve Cambodia’s commercial and economic goals.

Again, my appreciation for The American Chamber of Commerce and this publication. I wish you a successful year and progress in the Kingdom of Cambodia.

Sincerely,

PAN Sorasak
Minister of Commerce
Kingdom of Cambodia
