Fat exhausts, tinted windows, and big rims, LED under-car illumination – almost all on and in these three cars is customized.
Hor Ang (20, consultant, golden Toyota Prius), Xing (28, consultant, white Toyota Prius), and Sambath (22, auditor, Toyota Celica GTS) dedicate almost their entire free time to car modification. They met through Facebook in 2011 and since started the Cambodia Car Club.
With over 2,000 Likes on Facebook and an inner-circle offline group of around 50 people (almost all have a modified car) this gentlemen’s club is rather active in the car modification scene.
“Once you get started on tuning you car you never get enough.” Sambath says.
On average the three estimate that they have already spent $ 4,000 on countless custom parts.
Why do the three modify their cars?
The guys love cars and would like to combine features of their favourites.
The sound of a Ferrari can be recreated with a special exhaust and folding doors like those on a Lamborghini are available too – even for a Toyota Prius.
In the future the car enthusiast want to have an own car fleet with cars from Europe, and Japan.
Until their car dream comes true they will keep on tinkering on their rides – and aren’t they all pretty pimp!?
