The Urban Village mixed development project has commenced its Phase 2 sales on October 2 in a grand opening ceremony.

Comprising affordable residential units, luxurious homes and a commercial complex, Urban Village Phase 2 has a built-up area of 760,000 square metre (sqm).

It is a community-focused development strategically located between Hun Sen Blvd and National Road 2, within an area of rapid development in the city.

Urban Village Phase 2 is currently the most affordable project along Hun Sen Boulevard, where the price for residential units starts from $1,700 per square metre (sqm). Homebuyers are offered a 70 per cent loan with a flexible payment term of 25 years.

The award-winning Urban Village Phase 1, which has a total of 828 residential units, is completed and all of the units were sold out in just nine months.

Currently, Phase 2 of the project is open for sales. Out of over 800 units, 400 units have been sold and this is an indication of people’s confidence in the potential of Urban Village.

The project has also received multiple award recognitions.

In May, Urban Village became the only condominium project in Cambodia to win five awards in a row.

It was awarded The Best Condo Development (Cambodia), The Best Condo Development (Phnom Penh), The Best Condo Landscape Architectural Design, The Best Condo Architectural Design and Best Condo Interior Design by the well-known Singapore-based Asia Property Guru portal.

“We are an international company but we are very end-user focused. We want to create real community living ... that’s our key point. Our theme is ‘Live, Work and Play’,” said Catherine Chan and Ben Li, the executive directors of the Urban Hub.

Overseas Property Alliance co-founders Nelson Li and Henry Cheung, chairman Johnny Chan, share the same view.

They said that Urban Village has a very unique overall concept, and other than the residential aspect it includes an innovative work environment, such as economic measurement and quality (EMQ), as well as being an avenue for start-ups.

Phase 2 comprises of four 51-storey buildings. There are 1,700 units that range from 48 sqm to 107 sqm on offer. The completion date has been set for December 2022. The first four floors are allocated for retail facilities and parking spaces, while the fifth to 51st floor houses condominium units and a loft.

In terms of security, the premises are equipped with advanced security systems monitored 24/7 to ensure residents’ safety.

Designed as a place to rest, relax and interact with others, 45 per cent of the project’s total built-up area has been reserved as green spaces. This makes socialising and spending time within the community easy and relaxing.

Colors Asia Co Ltd director and general manager Takatoshi Kojima told the Post at the sales opening ceremony that Urban Village Phase 2 is a great property project.

He is very confident that it will attract a lot of Japanese investors and home buyers because of its design where u have the options of studio or choosing between a unit with one, two or three bedrooms.

The most exciting part of the project is the vibrant, creative hub called “Factory Phnom Penh” which is located adjacent to the condominium project.

“It’s the largest creative hub in Southeast Asia and has the largest co-working space in Cambodia. Besides, it also has the largest art gallery and the first trampoline park in the Kingdom apart from having the country’s first German hand-crafted beer too,” says Chan and Li.

The Factory houses offices, a Montessori preschool, an event space, a banquet hall, Brazilian gym, cafeteria, restaurant, pop up stores, sports facilities, retail outlets, photo studio, kid’s playground, tech and creative hub, skateboard park, soccer field, and library among others.

“International organisations such as the United Nations, European Chambers of Commerce, Toyota, Smart, H&M, Maybank Cambodia have been hosting their event here too,” said Chan and Li.

Recently, Cambodian football star Prak Mony Udom was appointed as the brand ambassador for Urban Village.

Chan says she admires Mony Udom’s talent because his ambition to achieve his dream is the same as hers to strengthen the potential of Urban Village in Cambodia.

“I see that we have the same aspirations, and Mony Udom is one footballer with the ambition to achieve his success. The Urban Village project was inspired by the need to fulfil people’s dreams, so we must work together to achieve common goals,” she said.

In essence, Urban Village strives to create a comfortable, peaceful and secure environment for its residents.
