A cabbie was shot and badly injured when his passengers robbed him of his taxi on Tuesday. Two suspects offered the driver $50 to take them from a guesthouse in Phnom Penh to Takeo.

While driving through a sparsely populated area in Takeo’s Traing district, the passengers asked to stop to answer nature’s call. At that point, one of the passengers shot the driver in the cheek, and as he attempted to escape, the crooks fired at him twice more.

The suspects made off with the car and villagers took the victim to hospital. Police warned the driver not to pick up sociopaths next time. RASMEI KAMPUCHEA
