American Rotary Club members, through the Wheelchair Foundation, have distributed

560 free wheelchairs to disabled, poor Cambodians. Rotary Clubs in California and

Hawaii donated funds matched by the foundation.

Cambodia still has an estimated six to eight million unexploded landmines that result

in death and injury to innocent people.

Chris Lewis, Wheelchair Foundation director of Public Education, said: "We are

proud to work with Rotarians in helping the Cambodian people and the disabled citizens

in dozens of other of nations around the world, through wheelchairs. It is wonderful

to see the immediate change in a person's quality of life, and that of their entire

family."
