The “Blossoms in All Seasons” football team, led by famous comedian Chem Chanra, better known as Peak Mi, met with Minister of Tourism Huot Hak to present their plans for various tourism programmes which aim to promote Cambodia’s tourism potential.

Tourism minister Huot Hak expressed his strong support for the initiative.

During the February 20 meeting, Hak and Chanra’s delegation discussed plans to organise major events which will promote Cambodia’s tourism sector, agrotourism and local products to both domestic and international tourists.

Chanra requested the cooperation and support of the ministry for his team’s projects, which he explained were dedicated to benefiting Cambodia and its tourism sector, according to a ministry press release.

"Blossoms in All Seasons" is a non-professional football team, but has gained popularity due to its initiatives that attract young people, and especially the fact that it is led by “Peak Mi”. The team consists of 40 members.

Hak acknowledged the team's potential for promoting Cambodia’s tourism industry.

“They are doing a great job contributing to the development of Cambodia’s tourism sector. As a leader of the tourism ministry, I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Peak Mi and his team for their dedication and valuable contributions,” he said, following the meeting.

Chanra explained that, as a Cambodian, he is committed to promoting the Kingdom’s tourist destinations.

“With the encouragement of the ministry, my team will continue to promote tourism even further. The ministry is making great efforts, and as citizens, we must support them in this mission,” he said.

“Therefore, we will work even harder than before to promote tourism sites, including ecotourism destinations, so that both Cambodians and foreigners can see that our country has many beautiful places to visit — not just Angkor or Sihanoukville,” he added.

He called on all Cambodian citizens to join in promoting the country’s tourism potential and attractions.

In December 2024, he organized the “Smile of My Village” event in Siem Reap province, which featured traditional rice harvesting with ancient tools and cultural performances. The event attracted many tourists to participated and his work was shared by Prime Minister Hun Manet.

Chhort Bunthang, an academic who studies culture, education and tourism, previously told The Post that the involvement of influential public figures, like Peak Mi, in promoting tourist destinations benefits both individuals and society as a whole.
