Minister of Interior Sar Sokha and Vietnamese ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Huy Tang share a hopeful vision for strengthening the two countries’ relations.
This optimism was voiced during their recent working meeting in Phnom Penh, where they discussed ongoing security cooperation.
Sokha thanked the ambassador for his commitment to enhancing ties, spanning politics, trade, investment, education and tourism between the two nations. Their shared aspiration is to benefit both countries and their people.
«The strong bond between our law enforcement forces is highly valued. They consistently collaborate and support each other, sharing vital information on security situations and resolving border issues. This joint effort aims to maintain security, stability and social order, contributing to the economic development of both countries,» said the ministry.
Both sides also expressed appreciation for the successful outcome of Prime Minister Hun Manet’s recent official visit to Hanoi, noting the fruitful results of his meeting with Vietnamese leaders.
Seun Sam, an international relations researcher at the Royal Academy of Cambodia (RAC), pointed out that discussing the positive relations between the two countries is expected.
«Diplomats or leaders from both countries tend to share positive sentiments and highlight the good aspects. It’s typical because, in a discussion, they wouldn’t dwell on negative points,» he said.
Sam suggests that both sides continue to show mutual respect and continue cooperation for the benefit of both nations and their people.
