Prime Minister Hun Sen has issued an ultimatum to individuals impersonating him on the social network TikTok. He urged them to delete their accounts to prevent any confusion among the public.

In a screenshot shared online, Hun Sen highlighted at least 10 TikTok accounts bearing his name.

Accompanying the image, he released an audio message on the morning of July 7. He warned that impersonators must delete their accounts, or face legal action.

The Prime Minister stated, “Although those individuals may not have bad intention in using my name, they must delete it today or change to their own names”.

"They can create misunderstanding when they publish any message and pictures on those accounts using my name," Hun Sen cautioned.

He continued, "Now, I have my own account and I post the content by myself or my assistant will do so, with short messages and pictures. Now no one can control my head by surveillance on me like before”.

Hun Sen created his TikTok account after abandoning his Facebook page last week. This followed a disagreement with Facebook's Oversight Board.

The Prime Minister also maintains a popular Telegram Channel.

According to the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, his channel ranks highest among world leaders in followers on July 6.
