Prime Minister Hun Sen said the government has not made a decision whether to vaccinate children aged 3 to 4 against Covid-19.

The premier said the government is still observing other countries that have vaccinated children in this age group to see if there is any major health impact.

Hun Sen revealed this in his response to a comment on his official Facebook page on January 14.

“There has been no final decision on vaccinations for children aged 3 and 4 so far. We have to wait and see what happens in other countries that have vaccinated children aged 3-4 whether it is effective or if it has any health impact,” Hun Sen said.

As of January 13, vaccinations for children aged 5 had reached 102.88 per cent of the estimated 300,000 target population for the age group.

Meanwhile, inoculations for children aged 6-11 stood at 105.54 per cent of the ballpark 1.9 million target population.
