The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport on January 14 released the official results of the Grade 12 examination, indicating that 65.65 per cent of the more than 110,000 registered candidates have passed.

This represented a slight drop compared to 2019, when 68.62 per cent of candidates passed the exam. In 2020, due to the prolonged Covid-19 pandemic, all Grade 12 students were permitted to pass automatically, though without grades.

This year, 72,016 out of the total 114,187 candidates passed the exam.

Among the successful candidates, 1,753 received grade A; 5,215 grade B; 11,634 grade C; 23,499 grade D; and 29,915 grade E.

Of the 1,753 students who received grade A, 565 are in the capital, followed by 153 in Siem Reap; 127 in Kandal; 123 in Battambang; and 118 in Kampong Cham. Other provinces have less than 100 students who received this grade.

The ministry said the examination and scoring process went smoothly without any significant irregularities. The result were published in Phnom Penh and Kandal province on the afternoon of January 14 and will be posted in other provinces on January 15.
