CCF officers attend the roundtable discussion in Phnom Penh. CCF
A roundtable discussion forum was recently held by the Consumer Protection, Competition and Fraud Repression Directorate-General (CCF) at the Ministry of Commerce.
The central focus of the forum was on the CCF's law enforcement practices, primarily aimed at sharing successful strategies and enhancing the skills of officials while addressing emergent issues
This event was held in collaboration with the German development agency GIZ in Cambodia.
The primary aim, according to the CCF, was to allow participants to exchange valuable experiences. Doing so would help address issues faced by law enforcement officials in areas such as consumer protection, competition, fraud repression, and particularly in the management of fuel and advertising for products, goods and services.
Further, the forum sought to enhance the understanding of its participants on practical aspects like diary writing, building a court case and drawing from work experience.
This initiative is seen as a means to deepen the knowledge of law enforcement officials. A comprehensive understanding of pertinent laws and regulations would promote consumer rights and interests. Additionally, this would facilitate a more competitive environment and augment the abilities of CCF's investigators, thereby enhancing the efficiency of their work.
In attendance were CCF director-general Phan Oun and Seng Dalin, an adviser on economic cooperation and private sector development for GIZ Cambodia. Alongside them were deputy directors-general, departmental heads and their deputies, bureau chiefs and their deputies, as well as a plethora of civil servants from the CCF, representing both the capital and provinces.
