Phnom Penh's Mi Casa Hotel is changing its name to Himawari Hotel Apartments next

January.

Himawari is a Japanese name meaning "Sunflower." Mi Casa is Spanish for

"My House."

Ly Sakhoeun, the resident manager, said the new name was chosen by the hotel's Singaporean

owners as the result of a change from a Malaysian to a Singaporean operational franchise

effective from the end of this year,

Mi Casa opened on the riverfront in October 2000 and has 110 accommodation units,

of which about half are occupied by longer term residents.
