Police are currently hunting for a third suspect in connection with the murder of Heng Seavly, whose bound and naked body was discovered in a shallow grave near Aeon Mall 3 on March 1.

On March 3, the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police arrested two Chinese nationals, named Chen Cong, 30, and Li Haohao, 34, in connection with the killing.

The 18-year old woman was allegedly romantically involved with Cong.

During interrogation, the two men confessed that they had participated in the murder on the night of February 27.

They claimed that the killing was orchestrated by a third individual identified as Yang Kaizin, a 26-year-old Chinese national who is still at large.

The motive for the killing was that the victim had allegedly learned of a “secret matter” concerning the three men.

Authorities reported that they received a missing persons complaint from Tum Sophy, the victim’s mother, on March 1.

Tragically, the body found in Dangkor district’s Choeung Ek matched the description.

Ngeng Chhou, head of the Criminal Investigation Department, was not prepared to share details of the “secret matter”.

“I cannot reveal what the secret matter is at this moment, as we are still tracking down another suspect,” he told The Post.

Both of the suspects in custody have been remanded to the Phnom Penh Court of First Instance.
