The Cambodian ambassador to South Korea has thanked Prime Minister Hun Manet for introducing passport services to Cambodian citizens living and working in South Korea, regarding it as an excellent gift for the new year.

In a video clip on the morning of January 11, ambassador Chring Botum Rangsay said that in the three months since Manet initiated the idea, officials had worked hard to make the passport service available in South Korea from January 10 onwards.

She explained that in the past, Cambodians in South Korea had to travel home to access the service, costing them time and money.

“Since the prime minister initiated the idea, Cambodian citizens in Korea are very happy and I believe that their compatriots in other countries feel the same,” she added.

The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training said last year that more than 60,000 Cambodians are working in South Korea.
