Prime Minister Hun Manet advised university graduates to address their educational gaps and weaknesses to enhance their strengths, particularly in the digital era.
He made the remarks while presiding over the graduation ceremony for more than 5,000 students of the National University of Management (NUM) and the opening of a branch in the Veal Sbov commune of Phnom Penh’s Chbar Ampov district on the morning of February 15.
"When you graduate, you can open the door to the workplace, but how far you can climb the staircase depends on your will. We learn everywhere, throughout our lives, and from everyone, especially from ourselves," the prime minister stated.
He encouraged the graduates to understand themselves, their strengths and weaknesses, and to learn from their mistakes.
"If you lack the will and refuse to acknowledge your weaknesses, no one can teach you, even until your last breath," Manet stated.
"If you lack the will to develop yourselves, no one can assist you, not even success gurus," he added, encouraging the graduates to adopt a humble attitude to seize opportunities for self-improvement.
The prime minister also urged state institutions, officials and graduates alike to embrace the digital transformation, emphasising its priority in the seventh government mandate.
