Kandal provincial governor Kong Sophorn issued a stern reminder to provincial authorities at all levels, urging them to continue to suppress illegal gambling from the grassroots up. This is a crucial part of strengthening the safe village-commune policy, he explained.

In addition, he told the provincial Department of Land Management, Urban Planning, Construction and Cadastral Affairs and relevant units that they should resolve all land disputes and complete the issuance of titles by the end of the year.

The reminders were issued at a January 5 meeting.

The provincial governor encouraged the each of the provincial departments to continue to work hard to meet their responsibilities to the people of Kandal. This would encourage the growth of the province.

He also commended provincial officials, police officers and town and district governors around the province for their hard work in 2022.

“Their dedication to their duty meant Kandal province was ranked second in the Kingdom for social services provision. This year, we also became the third province to be declared open defecation free,” he said.

“I look forward to many more accomplishments in 2023,” he added.

Sophorn encouraged all provincial authorities to keep up the good work.
