A large fire swept through three factory warehouses and four residential homes on April 1 at around 9.50am in Kandal province’s Thleuk village, in Ang Snoul district’s Peuk commune.
According to the Ang Snoul District Police, the warehouses stored rubber materials for making sandals and galvanized roofing sheets.
The fire was completely extinguished by around 2.00pm the same day, although authorities have yet to determine the cause of the blaze.
A total of 43 fire trucks from both the public and private sectors were deployed to combat the outbreak, with 365 personnel using 113 truckloads of water to defeat the inferno.
At least three other major fires linked to factories and warehouses occurred in Phnom Penh in March. They include a fire at the Formate Cambodia Co., Ltd. garment factory in Dangkao district on February 11, a blaze at a plastic storage and processing facility in Kamboul district on March 15, and another at a mattress production and storage site in Por Senchey district on February 27.
Additionally, on March 30, a fire in Russey Keo district completely gutted four houses and damaged the exteriors of seven others. It was reportedly caused by an electrical fault.

The authorities dispatched 43 appliances to the scene, with the fire finally extinguished at 2pm. Ang Snoul district police
