A US$2 million expansion project for the Hotel Juliana Phnom Penh is well underway
with an expected completion date for the project in January 1997, according to the
hotel's Room Division Manager Pramot Sothana.
The hotel will expand its room capacity from the current 53 rooms to 94 when a new
three-story wing in completed, including "two elaborately-designed suites to
meet the demand for international standard accomodations." A swimming pool is
being added which should be completed by October of this year, as well as new separate
sauna facilities for men and women.
A new conference center with a capacity of 400 people is expected to be ready for
use by the end of August. The hotel will also be adding two new restaurants, one
offering Chinese food and the other carrying a menu with Khmer and Thai dishes.
