In the first five months of 2025, The Kantha Bopha Children's Hospital provided $18 million dollars’ worth of free medical treatment to more than half a million sick children and pregnant women.

A June 4 report released by the Kantha Bopha Foundation stated that between January and May 2025, a total of 535,377 ill children and pregnant women received outpatient consultations and treatment.

Additionally, 77,995 severely ill children were admitted for inpatient care at the hospital. Among those treated, 1,716 children were hospitalised with dengue fever, and 13,184 underwent general surgery. The hospital also performed heart surgery on 458 children.

In addition, 7,829 women gave birth at the maternity department of Jayavarman VII Hospital (also known as Kuntha Bopha 3).

It noted that the paediatric inpatient mortality rate was reported at 0.3 per cent.

As part of this year’s “10,000 Riel, 10,000 People” fundraising campaign, the foundation received a $1 million donation from the Cambodian Red Cross on June 3. The donation, made at the Cambodian Red Cross headquarters, marked the 14th annual donation from the organisation.
