The Ministry of Health commended 200 health officials from Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, and Pailin provinces for their efforts in the battle against Covid-19.

The commendation ceremony took place at the health department in Battambang province, presided over by Health Minister Mam Bun Heng on June

4, with the attendance of provincial authorities, civil servants, and medical staff from the three Northewestern provinces.

The event highlighted the continuous, tireless efforts of these officials in managing and preventing the spread of the virus, the ministry said.

Voeung Bunreth, the director of Battambang provincial health department, expressed his appreciation towards the Ministry of Health for recognising the active participation of health officials in the fight against Covid-19.

“Ministry officials and the awarded health officials have actively encouraged vaccination and worked tirelessly on treatment and prevention of the virus,” Bunreth explained. “This recognition has buoyed our spirits. We feel encouraged to redouble our efforts in tackling Covid-19.”

Nuth Sambath, president of the Institute of Medicine, Biology and Agriculture at the Royal Academy of Cambodia, lauded the recognition. He noted the importance of such acknowledgments in boosting morale and encouraging hard work in the face of the pandemic.

“Comprehensive inspection and acknowledgement by the Ministry of Health encourages those who have demonstrated their commitment and abilities in their duties. These dedicated individuals have made great sacrifices, mentally, emotionally, and resource-wise, particularly in the fight against Covid-19,” Sambath said.
