More than 4,000 confiscated motorcycles will be publicly auctioned after being seized as evidence or recyclable assets by the Phnom Penh and Preah Sihanouk municipal and provincial courts.

On February 21, the Commission for the Management and Disposal of Evidence announced that it would hold a public auction for 4,544 motorcycles.

Among them, 4,076 motorcycles were from the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, with a base price of $122,280, while the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Court has 468 motorcycles up for grabs, with a base price of $14,040.

Auction applications will be open from February 21 to February 28.

This means bidding for each individual bike will begin at just $30.

The commission, established under a joint proclamation from the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Justice in April 2024, stated that all individuals and legal entities are eligible to participate in the bidding process by completing the required application forms and meeting the conditions outlined in the auction handbook.

The location for bid submission and application processing is at the Directorate General of Judicial Administration of the justice ministry, which is open on working days from 8am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5pm.

The auction itself will take place at the directorate, with the date to be announced in the near future.
