Officials from the General Directorate of Consumer Protection, Competition and Fraud Repression (CCF) identified another eight out of 14 fuel depots in Siem Reap and Kampong Cham provinces that have broken the law.

The CCF said the inspection took place on October 2. Businesses found to have violated the law, such as by selling regular fuel as super gasoline to customers, were reprimanded and fined.

CCF director-general Phan Oun told The Post on October 3 that since the 15-day Pchum Ben festival kicked off on September 22, CCF officials across the country have regularly carried out inspections and will continue to inspect all fuel businesses to prevent dishonest business practice.

Last month, CCF officials inspected nearly 500 fuel business locations and fined 224 of them for not complying with the law.
