S TATE-run news agency Agence Kampuchea Presse (AKP) called Thailand "hypocritical" for continuing to aid the outlawed Khmer Rouge, and trying to dominate regional economies and foment instability on the borders.
The charges were leveled in an editorial published on Aug 11 titled "Thailand and Cambodia". AKP reports frequently reflect Cambodian government policy.
The editorial also attacked the Thai military's commander-in-chief, General Wimol Wong-wanich, for lobbying to keep Cambodia from obtaining new weapons from friendly countries, and accused a second senior Thai military officer of seeking to expel Cambodia's ambassador Roland Eng.
"The relations between the two countries have not been so good since several months ago," said AKP.
After charging Gen Wong-wanich with blocking Cambodia's attempts to re-arm, the editorial declared "We know the strategic reasons of those maneuvers..."
"Thailand, especially its military circles, has given a hand to the Khmer Rouge," AKP said, citing military attaches and diplomats posted in Bangkok to back its charge. Bangkok has denied this.
"We are small and weak but will never accept the insults coming from the hypocritical neighbor," AKP declared.
