ADATA Technology Co., Ltd., a leading tech company from Chinese Taipei, has expressed interest in investing in Cambodia’s technology sector — with the Kingdom experiencing rapidly growing knowledge and an increasing demand for technology.

Simon Chen, founder and CEO of ADATA Technology Co., Ltd., met with Prime Minister Hun Manet on the morning of April 30, at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh.

During the meeting, Chen explained that ADATA Technology Co., Ltd. is a major international company. Currently, the firm has five subsidiaries listed on stock exchanges in Taiwan and Hong Kong, and operates over 40 representative offices conducting business around the world.

He noted that ADATA specialises in electronics, robotics, computers, biometrics and automotive technologies.

“This is my fourth visit to Cambodia, and the company is very interested in investing here, especially focusing on the high-tech sector. Additionally, ADATA is also keen on strengthening and expanding cooperation with Cambodian ministries and institutions to support the training and development of human resources in advanced technology,” he said.

Manet welcomed the company’s delegation for their visit and thanked them for their interest in investing in Cambodia. He also praised the rapid development and pioneering experience of ADATA in the high-tech field.

The prime minister reiterated that developing the technology sector is a top priority for the government. He encouraged the company to continue engaging with relevant ministries and institutions to seize opportunities for investment in Cambodia.

He also highlighted the government policies and mechanisms that are in place to support the Kingdom’s positive investment environment. These include the Law on Investment of the Kingdom of Cambodia, several measures and procedural reforms, and incentive packages to encourage investors — especially those involved in supply chain development.
