The Cambodia Kantha Bopha Foundation had received over $4.9 million in donations as of Wednesday, June 18, through its “10,000 Riel, 10,000 People” campaign. It is also staging a June 29 charity run in Kampot province to raise additional funds.
The foundation announced that the $4.9 million was collected from approximately 260,000 donors.
The foundation called on all members of the public who are able to continue donating in the spirit of “Khmer Helping Khmer”, and join the foundation in bringing hope and smiles to newborns, children and pregnant women in need of free, high-quality, non-discriminatory medical care and childbirth services at the Kantha Bopha Hospitals in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.
