Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz will lead a high level delegation to pay an official visit to Cambodia from October 4-6, at the invitation of Prime Minister Hun Sen.

The visit comes just one week after Hun Sen returned from his visit to Cuba, during which several cooperation documents were signed.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said in an October 1 press statement that King Norodom Sihamoni will grant Marrero Cruz an audience at the Royal Palace.

Marrero Cruz will also pay courtesy calls on President of the Senate Say Chhum and President of the National Assembly Heng Samrin.

He will also have a meeting with Prime Minister Hun Sen during which the two prime ministers will witness the signing of a number of documents that will expand bilateral cooperation in sports, education and culture as well as in other domains.

Marrero Cruz will also lay wreaths at Independence Monument and the Royal Memorial Statue of late King Father Norodom Sihanouk.

“The visit of His Excellency Manuel Marrero Cruz will reaffirm the long-standing and friendly relations between Cambodia and Cuba and underscore the need to further deepen and broaden cooperation for the greater benefit of the two countries and peoples,” the foreign affairs ministry said.
