Starting as an orphan in the countryside, Kun Narak is now a Cambodian national swimmer. Aged 25, the second child among seven siblings in his poor family, is proud of what he has accomplished.
“Swimming is not that difficult but being an expert of swimming is quite hard.” Kun Narak said, “Trying very hard, being patient and punctual are the main strategies. Since I have struggled so many tough years, I got to where I am today.”
Narak is now a swimming assistant coach at ICAN International School and last week he was the Cambodian winner Mekong River Swim (MRS) 2011. “The fastest Cambodian to swim the river was KUN Narak in a time of 10:46 mn” said David HUNT, Vice Principal at ICAN British International School and a MRS organizer.
