Tiv Dararith cycles around of Southeast Asia to raise fund for Angkor Hospital for Children (ACH). ACH
In a bid to support the children suffering from cancer and other afflictions at the Angkor Hospital for Children (AHC), a youthful Cambodian cyclist has embarked on a challenging journey. Riding a distance of over 9,000 km across Southeast Asia, Tiv Dararith aims to generate necessary funds for this worthy cause.
Fuelled by his passions, Tiv Dararith has invited supporters to ‘Travel with Rith’ via social media. His expedition kicked off in Phnom Penh on May 31, with a route weaving through Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore.

Not a stranger to lengthy cycling trips, Dararith has previously explored remote Cambodian territories and pedalled his way to Thailand. He confesses that cycling around Southeast Asia has always been a dream of his.
“Cycling is my passion and this mission reflects my desire to represent Cambodian youth and raise our national profile. Primarily, this journey is aimed at generating funds to aid Cambodian children suffering from cancer and other diseases at the AHC,” Dararith expressed.
As of now, he has accomplished over 4,000 km, approximately 40 per cent of the total distance. Remarkably, in just the initial fortnight, he has managed to raise over $4,000.
Confident in the public’s sustained generosity, Dararith is eager to complete his mission and return to the Siem Reap province. He plans to conclude his mission in front of the hospital he is riding so tirelessly for.
“Having cycled through Vietnam, I was deeply moved by the support I received from the local cycling association and bike enthusiasts, who joined and donated generously to assist Cambodian children. I have faith that they, along with others, will join me in this endeavour and help us raise the funds needed for the hospital,” he articulated.
The AHC, a non-profit organisation, has been working in collaboration with the government to enhance the health system for Cambodian children for two decades. The hospital has consistently provided compassionate, high-quality healthcare to all Cambodian children, irrespective of their location or financial status.
Support for Dararith’s mission is far-reaching. Dam Soreyneang, an avid cyclist herself, is one of many who have joined this cause.
“As a young Cambodian and cycling enthusiast, I feel immense pride in seeing my fellow countrymen undertake such ventures. Their resolve sets an excellent example for future generations, inspiring me to contribute my share,” Soreyneang expressed.
