Approved by King Norodom Sihamoni, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport held a Medal Award Ceremony on November 1, 2023 to confer the Royal Order of Sahametrei on members of the Sichuan Road and Bridge Group Co, Ltd.

On behalf of the Cambodian monarchy and the Royal Government of Cambodia, Pheng Sovicheano, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, awarded medals to 10 members of the Sichuan Road and Bridge Group team.

Liu Guanghai, Liu Xiaolan and Zhao Shifeng were awarded the Sahametrei Friendship Medal – Order of Knight Grand Cross.

Tang Tianjian was awarded the Sahametrei Friendship Medal¬ – Order of Knight Grand Officer, while Du Ruyu, Deng Yucan, Yang Xiaojun, Chen Liangchuan, Wei Linpan and Zhang Mengfei were all awarded the Sahametrei Friendship Medal – Order of Knight Commander.

Pheng Sovicheano said that as one of the largest state-owned enterprises in China, the Sichuan Road and Bridge Group in Cambodia embodied the spirit of "overcoming difficulties, willing dedication and the courage to succeed".

Since entering Cambodia in 2010, the company has, with a strong sense of responsibility and unwavering dedication, successfully completed a number of construction projects, including National Road 1, National Road 3 and National Road 7.

Having made such significant contributions to the Cambodian transport sector against the backdrop of the adversity brought by the Covid-19 pandemic demonstrates Sichuan Road and Bridge Group's excellent performance capability and spirit of teamwork.

And to thank Sichuan Road and Bridge Group for its outstanding contributions to the construction of transport infrastructure in Cambodia over the years, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport applied for the Cambodian government to confer the "Royal Order of Sahametrei" on members of the team.

Such a prestigious award is confirmation of the Sichuan Road and Bridge Group's continuous pursuit of excellence, and serves as recognition from the Cambodian government as to the company's construction capabilities and level of management.

The Royal Order of Sahametrei was established by King Father Norodom Sihanouk on September 9, 1948.

Consisting of five classes, Sahametrei Friendship Medals are mainly bestowed on foreigners who have made outstanding contributions to the King and people of Cambodia, especially in the field of foreign relations and diplomacy, or as a symbol of friendship with other nations.
