Royal University of Phnom Penh (RUPP) and Shinhan Bank (Cambodia) Plc on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding to provide scholarships to outstanding students at the institution. Under the “Shinhan Financial Group Hope Scholarship” programme, 10 students from the Department of Korean Language, Institute of Foreign Language will be awarded the funding. Present at the signing ceremony was HE Dr Chet Chealy, Royal University of Phnom Penh rector and Kim Nam Soo, president and CEO of Shinhan Bank Cambodia. Chealy thanked Shinhan Bank for their financial support for the students who are in their final year from the Department of Korean Language. Kim said: “although the scholarships are not much, I hope it will become a key stepping stone for future cooperation between the two countries. This is the main reason why we selected the scholarships for students from the Department of Korean Language in RUPP.” PHOTOS SUPPLIED
