On 1st August, H.E Mang Sinet, Preah Sihanouk Governor, and H.E Chea Kok Hong, Secretariat Director of the Master Plan, co-led a high-level technical discussion on the preparation and implementation strategy for the MPSEZ Master Plan, marking a significant step forward in realizing the vision of the plan and signifying the upcoming transition into its implementation phase.

The meeting was attended by deputy provincial governors and directors of various provincial departments, underscoring the collaborative efforts required to transform the province into an international gateway, national development pole and an ASEAN metropolis. 

Key topics discussed included the institutional setup of the implementing agency, power delegation, infrastructure development, regulatory frameworks and other investment compliance standards.

During the discussion, the Secretariat team presented detailed plans outlining a comprehensive summary of the master plan and its implementation phases, action plan and key discussion points to gather further input from the provincial government to ensure efficient and effective implementation. 

Emphasis was placed on creating a robust implementing agency structure, a short-term action plan, streamlining compliance processes and fostering a business-friendly environment that attracts both domestic and international investors.

The Preah Sihanouk government is committed to supporting the Master Plan Secretariat and ensuring the successful implementation of the MPSEZ Master Plan. 

The meeting was highly productive, setting the stage for actionable steps towards the implementation of the MPSEZ Master Plan and reinforcing the commitment to more detailed dialogue and cooperation between the Secretariat and the Preah Sihanouk provincial government.
