Sovannaphum Life Assurance Plc on June 27 paid out compensation worth $20,000 to a member of staff at The Phnom Penh Post for critical illness medical expenses.
This compensation was disbursed in addition to benefits from the insurance product base plan that the customer had already purchased.
The provision of additional benefits by Sovannaphum demonstrates its commitment to the protection of Cambodian family finances in cases of critical illness.
Sovannaphum Life Assurance CEO Loke Kah Meng said: “As a responsible corporate citizen and financial institution – consistent with the theme “Here for You. Here for Cambodia” – we are here to protect the financial wellbeing of all Cambodian families through life insurance protection.
“This helps them maintain financial stability should any unforeseen [accidents or illness] happen to them. We are now happy to provide claims compensation of $20,000 to a member of staff at The Phnom Penh Post in his time of need”.
The cheque presentation was held at The Phnom Penh Post’s offices.
Post Media publisher and CEO Ly Tayseng said the company had taken insurance coverage for all its staff with the intention of easing their financial burden in the case of emergency.
“Life and accident insurance coverage is one of the benefits our company offers to all our employees.
We cannot protect them completely but to assist some of their financial difficulties faced” he said. Photos by Hean Rangsey
