LIXIN inks MoU with shooting fed for 2023 Games venue
LIXIN Group and the Cambodia Shooting Federation signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on July 6, with the international development group pledging to support the sport at the 2023 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games with the construction of new state-of-the-art facilities.
Lt Gen Tan Sokvichea, the vice president of the Cambodia Shooting Federation, and Kevin Hsu, the CEO of LIXIN Group, signed the agreement in the presence of HE Meach Sophana, secretary of state at the Ministry of Interior, at the CEO Center in Phnom Penh.
At the signing ceremony, Sophanna expressed his appreciation to LIXIN Group for its strong support as the Kingdom gears up to host the Southeast Asian sporting extravaganza for the first time in its history.
“With the hosting of the 32nd SEA Games now less than a year away, and with shooting one of the important sports at the regional multi-discipline showpiece, establishing the shooting range is a matter of urgency.
“And so for this, we warmly welcome the support of LIXIN Group and would like to thank them for their unwavering commitment and continued strong backing,” Sophanna said.
Hsu spoke of LIXIN Group’s commitment to supporting Cambodian shooting.
Serving as the main competition venue for the shooting events at the 32nd SEA Games, the facilities will be positioned as a national training centre, strengthening the Kingdom’s prospects in the sport into the future, he said.
The shooting venue is to be located in LIXIN’s Sihanoukville New City (SNC) development in Preah Sihanouk province.
Not only meeting the requirements of the shooting competition during the 32nd SEA Games, the venue will be open to professionals and the general public and after the event has concluded, he added. PHOTOS BY HONG MENEA
