Khmer Enterprise building more vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem with 'Ecosystem Networking Day'
Khmer Enterprise (KE) – the implementing unit of the Ministry of Economy and Finance – held the “Ecosystem Networking Day” at Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh which was presided over by HE Vongsey Vissoth.
HE Vongsey Vissoth serves as Minister Attached to the Prime Minister, Permanent Secretary of State at Ministry of Economy and Finance, and Chairman of Entrepreneurship Development Fund.
“The entrepreneurial ecosystem is indispensable for the growth of entrepreneurship, and serves as a main pillar for private sector development that drives economic growth through job creation, value creation, economic efficiency and sourcing innovation.
"The Royal Government of Cambodia envisions local businesses growing from startups to SMEs [small and medium-size enterprises] and then scaling up to large enterprises.
"The evolution of local businesses will thus bring more value-added and increase competitiveness in the national economy, ” said HE Vongsey Vissoth.
The Ecosystem Networking Day event was designed to provide all attendees with a platform to connect and discuss building more robust strategies for future implementations.
In addition, Khmer Enterprise has highlighted some activities among hundreds of implemented programmes with technical and financial support.
The sharing session was actively engaged in, with local and international partners sharing feedback and experiences that contribute to the improvement of the ecosystem.
Building an entrepreneurial ecosystem requires coordinated efforts to guide and interact where possible based on the needs of all stakeholders.
Therefore, around 120 representatives from the government, embassies, ESOs, financial institutes, associations, business communities and other stakeholders took part in the networking event.
As a national platform, it has always been Khmer Enterprise’s mission to support the entrepreneurial and business landscape to grow.
Khmer Enterprise also works with partners including venture capitalists and angel groups, financial institutions and implementing agencies on various initiatives that are tailored to the needs of businesses at different stages.
As well as this annual networking activity, Khmer Enterprise's initiatives include incubator programmes, yearly national awards competitions, grand development packages for exporters, investments, consultations and mentorships.
