EMCAST, a leading South Korean educational technology company, has been selected as a key partner in Cambodia’s Secondary School STEM Education Capacity Building Project, an initiative supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport (MOEYS).
This five-year initiative aims to strengthen STEM education nationwide. In partnership with Cambodia’s National Institute of Education (NIE), EMCAST will enhance Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for teachers and train NIE instructors to equip educators with student-centred teaching skills.
Since 2019, EMCAST has supported teacher training in Cambodia, successfully training over 1,000 teachers between 2022 and 2024. These programmes helped educators adopt student-centred teaching methods and develop lesson plans aligned with Cambodia’s national curriculum.
With this new initiative, EMCAST will lead hands-on training programmes emphasising curriculum literacy and peer collaboration. Teachers will be empowered to develop lesson plans and refine instructional strategies for practical classroom application.
A MOEYS representative stated: “Our collaboration with EMCAST will equip Cambodian teachers with essential STEM teaching skills, ensuring effective classroom implementation”.
“By working closely with ADB and MOEYS, we are committed to delivering high-quality STEM teacher training that enhances secondary education and equips students with the skills needed for future careers,” added an EMCAST project leader.
Through this partnership, EMCAST is driving meaningful improvements in Cambodia’s education system, ensuring innovative and effective training to support the next generation of STEM professionals.
