Cambodia Day is a cultural event that aims to preserve and promote Khmer heritage, uniting the community through traditional arts, music and performances while fostering a deeper connection to the rich cultural history of Cambodia.
The heart of Union Square, in San Francisco, the US, will come alive with the vibrant sights, sounds, and tastes of Cambodia on September 28, as we gather to celebrate Cambodia Day, presented by A Khmer Buddhist Foundation and Water Buffalo Pictures, in collaboration with Union Square Alliance and Cafe Du Nord. This event promises a day filled with cultural performances, connection and community spirit, honouring the rich heritage and traditions of Cambodia.
Cambodia Day is made possible through the dedicated support of Philanthropist Lyna Lam, Co-Founder/Executive Producer of Cambodia Day and A Khmer Buddhist Foundation, a San Jose-based non-profit committed to preserving our Khmer heritage and culture.
Community Connection
Cambodia Day is more than just a celebration of culture; it is a powerful reminder of the resilience within our community. This event highlights the strength and spirit of the Cambodian/Khmer people, many of whom have overcome tremendous challenges to preserve and share their heritage.
As we gather in Union Square from 10.00am to 8.30pm, we honour the past and look forward to a future filled with hope and promise. The performances and activities planned for this day are not just for entertainment; they are a celebration of our shared history, our cultural pride, and our commitment to fostering a vibrant, united community.
