Nabil Sultan, Emirates’ Executive Vice President, Passenger Sales and Country Management, commented: “A year ago we resumed operations to the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh, and today we add yet another Cambodian gateway to our growing Southeast Asian network. These expansions reinforce Cambodia’s cultural richness and economic potential which make it a natural fit for our growth strategy for this region. We’re confident that this new route will further strengthen tourism flows and commercial ties between Cambodia and the rest of the world, particularly with the UAE, as part of the established Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between both nations.

We thank the Cambodian government and local airports as well as the tourism bodies for their support and dedication. We also look forward to celebrating the success of this new route along with our partners, as we begin connecting travellers from across our global network to this attractive destination.”

Mohammed Al Qassim, Emirates’ Country Manager for Cambodia, added: “Having witnessed Cambodia’s proactive efforts to strengthen local tourism and trade, Emirates is proud to play a significant role in supporting the Kingdom’s vision by providing essential air connectivity to Dubai and beyond.

Our Dubai-Singapore-Phnom Penh service has been successful since we launched it last year, and there’s no better way to celebrate its first anniversary than to expand our operations by adding one more Cambodian gateway. We have full confidence in Siem Reap’s potential and look forward to working with our local partners and the Cambodian government to further promote this new route to our global customers.”
