Ms. S.M.’s case (27 years old, Phnom Penh) is an example. At the end of December 2024, she was diagnosed with cerebellar medulloblastoma – a rare type of brain tumor. Her doctors recommended surgical removal of the brain tumor, followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy to secure an effective treatment. However, the radiotherapy phase presented significant challenges as she required craniospinal irradiation (from her head to lower back) but local medical facilities faced obstacles in both equipment and technology.
