CamID – a multifunction app developed by Cambodia’s leading telecommunications and digital technology company Metfone – has won the ‘Best Entertainment App of the Year’ award from the Globee Awards.

Globee Awards is the world’s renowned business awards programme and business ranking list.

CamID is an all-in-one app that serves as a digital passport for all the entertainment and essential online services for mobile phone users. CamID provides a convenient digital hub for users – including the cross-network – by combining the special features from MyMetfone, Mocha app, and cinema services into one app.

Metfone’s vice general director Nhong Dinthan said that the app was bestowed with the prestigious award for being innovative and entertaining.

“CamID is the first of its kind in Cambodia – the single app for just everything. It has recently gained a lot of new users due to its innovative content and self-care, which includes movies, games, eSports, chat, and Metfone+ all in one, allowing Metfone customers to manage everything in just one app,” said Dinthan.

CamID recently added another interesting feature that allows users to replace damaged mobile phone top-up cards.

He said customers had to visit Metfone outlets in the past to replace their damaged cards, which was inconvenient and time-consuming.

“Now, when your scratch card is damaged, just go to CamID app and exchange it easily and quickly. It is such an easy process,” Dinthan said.

Metfone prides itself as the leading telecommunications operator due to its largest network infrastructure in the Kingdom with more than 11,000 base stations, 23,000 kilometres of fiber optic cables – enabling it to provide services to nearly nine million customers covering all residential areas.

Metfone’s goal is to become the leading digital technology company in Cambodian the coming years. Currently, it is focusing on providing more digital platforms such as eMoney for digital payment, CamID digital hub for entertainment, SelfCare, and SIS system for school management.
