Marriot collaborating on five-star hotel in Sihanoukville

Hotel giant Marriot International will partner with local firm Grand Lion Group to build a 388-room, five-star hotel in the coastal town of Sihanoukville, according to a press release from the company.

Construction on the hotel is scheduled to break ground in January 2019, with an opening date set for January 2022. The hotel would form a piece of the $200 million Gold Coast project, which is set to include 888 residential units in a 58-storey building located on 1.6 hectares of land in Preah Sihanouk province.

Marriot previously partnered with Grand Lion Group to build the Courtyard hotel in Siem Reap, the brand’s first venture in the Kingdom, which opened in January this year.
