On October 9, 2024 at the Novotel Phnom Penh BKK 1, Influential Brands (ASIA) met more than 40 senior executives to showcase its purpose, goals and commitment to celebrate business excellence in Asia. The event was supported by PR and communications partner, TWPR.

Mr. Borathai Bun, a Cambodian partner of Influential Brands® said, “Our goal is to bring Cambodian brands to the forefront of Asia. We believe that Cambodia's untapped potential can resonate with audiences across the region, creating opportunities for growth, collaboration and cultural exchange.”

The awards, based on the key themes of leadership, branding and employee engagement are divided into five categories. These include "Top Influential Brands", which recognises leading brands preferred by consumers, and "Outstanding Brands", awarded to those with excellent branding practices.

The "Top Employers" category honours companies with high employee engagement and strong workplace culture, while "Top CEOs" celebrates exceptional leadership and management. Lastly, the "Outstanding Leaders" award recognises individuals who have excelled in business transformation and innovation.

Each category award follows specific criteria based on both quantitative and qualitative data analysis.

For the Top Brand and Outstanding Brand awards, brands must have a positive perception in the eyes of consumers. The common thread among the Top Brands is their emphasis on innovation, consistency in delivery and many faithful years of serving market needs. Such efforts are valued by consumers and are in turn reflected in market sentiment.  

For the Top Employer Award, employers must have a positive perception in the eyes of their own employees. Some parameters include meaningful employee engagement, strong company culture and relevant HR practices in the digital age.

Every year, more than 25,000 shoppers and more than 50,000 employees are surveyed across Asia.

Preliminary insights from the survey also suggest the Covid-19 pandemic played a role in shaping consumer decisions. When asked about what matters most when one makes purchases, ‘value for money’ (56%) came in first, followed by ‘lasting quality’ (13%) and then ‘lower price’ (10%), among other factors.

Compared to last year’s results, there has been a significant increase in the percentage of consumers who chose these options. ‘Brand’ and ‘convenience’ are also important considerations relative to ‘warranties’, ‘service’ and ‘safety’.

Winners of the respective awards will be announced in December 2024 and the official award recognition will take place in March 2025 in both Singapore and Thailand.
