Important Cambodian products have been chosen for exhibition at the sixth annual China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, held from November 5 to 10. This marks the sixth consecutive year of the Kingdom’s participation in this international trade showcase.

Cambodia’s presence at the exhibition is notable, and this year, the country has erected a 136sqm pavilion, modelled after the Royal Palace’s architectural design and adorned with traditional Khmer motifs.

“The Cambodian pavilion proudly exhibits rice, cashew nuts, pepper, coffee and various souvenirs. It also features images and videos aimed at promoting the nation’s investment climate, economy, trade, tourism and culture,” the ministry said.

Ministry spokesman Pen Sovicheat highlighted the significance of this trade fair as a pivotal event for international cooperation in economic, trade, investment and diplomatic relations with China.

“This presents a valuable opportunity for Cambodian businesspeople, entrepreneurs, investors and producers seeking new business partnerships or aiming to rekindle trade relations with both Chinese and international counterparts,” he said.

Keo Mom, president of the Cambodian Women Entrepreneurs Association (CWEA), highlighted that the international exhibition serves as an opportunity for businesses looking to expand their export markets.

“Our enduring goal for our members is to encourage them to pursue international business opportunities by offering quality products featuring the ‘Made in Cambodia’ emblem to consumers in foreign nations,” she said.

The trade exposition is a gateway for international cooperation organised by China, supporting trade liberalisation and global economic integration. It aims to open the Chinese market to the world, bolster economic collaboration and advance global trade for worldwide economic growth.

Additionally, it facilitates trade discussions and negotiations, crucial for enhancing global economic governance and offers nations opportunities to expand their exports to China.
