First established in 1992 to assist with the language training needs of the Cambodian government and UNTAC personnel, IDP Education (Cambodia) is proud to celebrate its 25th Anniversary of operations in Cambodia in 2017.

25 years of excellence in providing education training, testing and service provision have helped make IDP Education not only an acknowledged market leader in the Kingdom but a true Australian success story.

In 1992, IDP Education established the Australian Centre for Education (ACE). In 2017, ACE provides English language training and testing services for over 64,000 enrollees per year, as well as for government officials and leading local and international businesses, at four campuses in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.

ACE has trained and tested hundreds of thousands of students of all ages and capacities in essential English language communication skills since 1992, in particular in preparation for studying overseas and for scholarships to Australia and New Zealand.

With English as the language of business for ASEAN, the new ACE Diploma for English program now sets new standards in language education in Cambodia.

IDP Education introduced IELTS to Cambodia as a proud co-owner of the test in 1993. Since then, the only IELTS Official Test Centre in Cambodia has allowed students and agencies the opportunity to benchmark their English language skills for study, work and migration purposes, in particular for applications for scholarships and for studying overseas. The IELTS Official Test Centre remains the only venue in Cambodia that can host UKVI for IELTS and LifeSkills tests required for those interested in studying, working or migrating to the UK.

The first Cambodian students to study in Australia through IDP Education departed in 1995. In 2017, IDP Education is a world leader in international student placement services and the Study Abroad Resource Centres at our four campuses in Cambodia provide free counselling and placement services to over 400 education institutions in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and the US.

The Annual CamTESOL Conference Series on English Language Teaching was established as an initiative of IDP Education in 2005. With the 13thCamTESOL scheduled for 18-19 February 2017, it is now the largest ELT conference in Asia with over 1,700 attendees each year.

2014 saw the founding of the Global Alumni Convention, the first high-level event in Cambodia for alumni from around the world, business leaders and government representatives to gather together to share ideas and network. The 3rd Annual Global Alumni Convention is being hosted by IDP Education on 24-25 March 2017.

IDP Education is part-owned by 38 Australian Universities and is also successfully listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX).

After 25 years of education excellence in Cambodia, IDP Education takes this opportunity to celebrate Australia Day 2017.
