On September 26th, as part of World Tourism Day, Conscious Tourism Cambodia celebrates its TRAVEL GREEN.TRAVEL LOCAL creative writing and photography competition.

With a successful competition online last year, CamConscious Tourism has decided for the first time this year, to exhibit the best writing and photos.

The organisers believe that community-based tourism can create a sustainable environment for the livelihoods of the most impoverished people of Cambodia. As a UK-registered NGO and based in Phnom Penh, CamConscious Tourism promotes sustainable tourism in Cambodia and helps to develop community-based tourism projects as a way to diversify income for poor rural communities.

CamConscious Tourism is happy to have Pi Pay and Plantation Urban Resort & Spa as its main partners as well receiving support from the business community to make this event a reality.

Sponsors include Terres Rouges, MAADS, Hotel Cambodiana, The Pavilion and also local tourism partners including Vespa Adventures, Eleven One Kitchen, FCC Phnom Penh, Chinese House, Amboh Espadrille, LOY Wallet with media partner The Phnom Penh Post.

The exhibition will display a handpicked selection of writing and photographs submitted by the general public, which will be scrutinized and selected by a renowned team of judges.

Through this exhibition, CamConscious Tourism’s main objective is to create awareness of sustainable travel in Cambodia. With its partners, they hope to engage a wider audience centered on Cambodian and expats living in Cambodia and to expose true experiences within Cambodia from all walks of life.

The launch of the exhibition will take place on September 26th, starting from 6pm and entry is free.
