Chantha celebrated winning her gold medal by taking a victory lap around the field while carrying the Cambodian flag. She is the first athlete from the Kingdom to win a gold medal in the long jump at the ASEAN Para Games.

Prime Minister Hun Sen, who is also president of the National Paralympic Committee of Cambodia, posted a congratulatory message to Chantha on his Facebook page after she clinched the gold.

"Congratulations to Vit Chantha on winning the gold medal in the long jump at the 11th ASEAN Para Games in Solo, Indonesia, on the morning of August 1. I hope our athletes will continue to succeed," he said.
