Hong Kong was Cambodia’s 10th largest trading partner,14th largest export market and sixth largest source of imports in 2018. Eleven per cent of the total trade between Cambodia and mainland China was routed through Hong Kong.

“Hong Kong and Cambodia’s economic relations are scaling new heights since the signing of the Asean-Hong Kong Free Trade Agreement and a related Investment Agreement.”

These two agreements lay down a very strong foundation for businessmen to consider both sides for expanding trade, investment and professional services.

We are close to each other, with a mere three-hour flight operated daily between Hong Kong and Phnom Penh by Cathay Dragon and Lanmei Airlines.

The proximity and the rising economy of Cambodia has attracted young professionals and entrepreneurs from Hong Kong in recent years. Human resource talent is one of the most valuable assets that Hong Kong offers.

We believe that the exchange of ideas between talents of the two places will foster innovative outcomes and stronger people-to-people bonds.

With the accelerated development of infrastructure such as the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the high-speed railway, Hong Kong provides the most accessible, safe and secure gateway to mainland China.

Under the “one country, two systems” principle, Hong Kong also offers the rule of law, free flow of capital, information, people, and business and professional services that follow international standards and practices.

With these advantages, Hong Kong is an excellent location for Cambodian companies to expand their businesses, to tap into the Chinese market and the wider world. We look forward to more investments from Cambodia. Together, Hong Kong and Cambodia will build a brighter future with friendship and goodwill as its central theme.
