The American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP) is a private, non-profit by philosophy and mission, English language higher education institution. It is the only university in Cambodia to offer U.S. accredited dual degree programs. Our U.S. partner university, the University of Arizona (UA), offers students the opportunity to earn Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, provided by U.S. professors in Cambodia.

ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY

AUPP welcomed its first class in August 2013, and in consultation with several U.S. universities, has shown dynamic growth and development in creating excellent academic programs and a wide-range of student opportunities with regional and international internships, community services, and non-curricular cultural experiences.

Through the efforts of our faculty, students, and staff, AUPP is realizing its vision to provide a center of academic excellence for Cambodia. The university reaffirms its commitment to the students and parents in imparting university-wide values of high academic expectations, accountability, equity, integrity, and personal responsibility. AUPP also provides internships to students both domestically and internationally. AUPP is one of the most prestigious universities in Cambodia. The university provides high quality, internationally based curricula that focuses on student development so that each of the AUPP graduates has the requisite technical skills and leadership qualities to be in demand in the global workforce.

PARTNERSHIP WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA

To consolidate its vision as the leading academic center of excellence in Cambodia and Asia, AUPP introduced the dual degree program model in the summer of 2016 with its partner university in the USA, the University of Arizona (UA). This dual degree program is a U.S. accredited program whereby upon graduation the students obtain two degrees at the same time. One degree is issued by AUPP and the other from the UA.

DUAL DEGREE PROGRAMS

In the dual degree programs, students discover learning experiences with American faculty from the University of Arizona and the American University of Phnom Penh. The dual degree programs are not an online program, and the programs are taught in AUPP’s campus in Phnom Penh itself. The two universities have partnered to offer dual degrees in Business Administration, Law, and Civil Engineering.

Students in dual degree Programs will be able to:

Gain access to a top ranked U.S. education at an affordable price (UA is ranked in the world's top 100 universities)

Earn a dual degree entirely in residence in Phnom Penh in as little as 4 years

Be a part of a UA’s global micro campus network with opportunities to study outside Cambodia

Take courses with American students and faculty

The other majors offered at AUPP are in Interior Design, Computer Science, Architecture and Global Affairs. As for the faculty of AUPP, ninety percent of our faculties hold PhD’s from American and other international schools with American university-level teaching experiences.

With the advent of dual degree programs come fully equipped laboratories for civil engineering, computer science and other sciences supporting our accredited STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics) programs. Civil Engineering students learn from the expertise of UA faculty, and gain skills through a U.S. program that mirrors the ABET accredited Civil Engineering program at the main UA campus. Business students have the advantage of studying with UA’s Eller College of Management (Ranked in the top 10 public undergraduate programs in the U.S.). Law students, receive instruction from both AUPP and UA’s James E. Rogers College of Law faculty (Ranked in the top 50 in the US), and have a firm foundation in comparative law with opportunity to register in other countries as well. There is a unique opportunity for the private and public sectors to invest in the future of the fully trained and accredited graduates.

OPENING OF THE NEW CAMPUS

In 2017, AUPP will celebrate the opening of its new campus and will move forward into its state-of-the- art facility. It will be Cambodia’s largest international standard university, accommodating up to 4,000 students. This new campus will feature sports centers, housing for students, and many other facilities. Designed by international architects, the new campus will sit on a seven hectares area of land and is the most technically advanced and eco-friendly university in Cambodia.

STUDENT LIFE

AUPP also has a rich and vibrant student life and is the only university in Cambodia to have an active Student Government. The Student Government provides a crucial platform for fellow students to voice concerns and share opportunities for growth, and it encourages all students to participate in leadership and organizational activities as well.

AUPP also aims to enrich the lives of students through the encouragement of student involvement via many club activities where all students may join an existing or initiate a new club. Some of the popular student-led clubs at AUPP include the sports club, the dance club, the book club, the philosophy club, to name a few. Other important activities include leadership programs, community service,

and educational and cultural

opportunities locally and

internationally.

INSPIRING TOMORROW'S LEADERS

From a vision in the minds of AUPP's founders to the first graduating class in Summer 2017, the American University of Phnom Penh has exceeded expectations of growth and development to become Cambodia's premier university offering higher

education at the American standard. With a new campus and new programs on the horizon, there is no limit to the opportunities that await students who choose to discover their education with AUPP. With expert faculty, high standard curriculum, and vibrant student life, AUPP nurtures and inspires the future leaders and innovators of tomorrow.
