WingMall enters e-commerce race, offering buyers seamless shopping

Offering a seamless experience, WingMall has become the latest player in the virtual shopping segment in the Kingdom.

online shopping is becoming a bustling business, and with virtual buying on the rise – driven largely by young consumers increasingly moving into the digital space – e-commerce is set to be another sunrise industry in Cambodia.

“Online shopping is an emerging trend in the Kingdom. We believe that WingMall has the opportunity to benefit each Cambodian because they will endure less stress during the shopping experience.

“And by eliminating the need to travel, customers can enjoy more time with families and at work.

“Our customers will not even need to visit physical retailers or use cash – with just a few taps, the product will be instantly delivered to their doorstep,” said WingMall chief business officer Saksham Shubham.

Cambodia is fertile ground for e-commerce players, with the sector being propelled by a sizeable young and tech-savvy population, the high proliferation of smartphones, affordable data, the continued entry of reputable brands and the ongoing effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Since the trial launch of WingMall last October, more than 1,000 merchants – covering a range of consumer items from food, drinks and groceries, to electronics, toys and beauty products – have joined WingMall.

And, to support its virtual market, some 500 delivery personnel, both male and female, strive to ensure orders are processed and delivered efficiently across the capital.

“Our goal with the platform is to empower smaller merchants and help them reach new customers, which is particularly important during the Covid-19 pandemic.

WingMall has been added to the Wing Money App’s suite of third-party products to help Cambodians make purchases safely amid the coronavirus outbreak.

It is open to all Wing users and merchants across Phnom Penh for free, and plans are in the pipeline to roll out the e-commerce platform to other provinces this year.

“We charge our partner merchants a simple and reasonable rate, and in turn allows them to access the millions of users of the Wing Money App,” said Saksham.

Purchases and payments are simple – consumers place an order by opening the Wing Money App, and by tapping the “WingMall” option they are able to browse dozens of listed retailers and make purchases.

Customers are able to track their orders and confirm the delivery of their goods on their smartphones, and make payments securely and quickly via the Wing Money App.

To coincide with WingMall’s official launch in Phnom Penh – and to help its merchant partners revitalise their businesses during this difficult period – customers will enjoy free delivery on WingMall on all orders.

There are also exciting further offerings for buyers, with Wing app users able to earn WingPoints – the points-based reward programme offered by Wing – by making purchases using WingMall.

As an added benefit, loyal WingPoints collectors will be able to accrue on their purchases as usual and then redeem them with all WingMall merchants.

And loyal Wing customers who earn more than 500 points each week through the WingMall will be eligible to enter a lucky draw and get the opportunity to take home an iPhone 12 Pro.

Those who collect 5,000 WingPoints a month will have the chance to win a brand new Honda Zoomer X scooter.
